Do adults need party favors from a kids’ birthday? Probably not … but if the party favor is small, usable, and totally bad-a** to boot, you might as well go for it.
A zombie apocalypse party just isn’t complete with some token to fight those zombies. Or so I’m told. I’m still learning this #boymom stuff.
Actually, these zombie virus antidotes (made from a miniature bottle of hand sanitizer) were one of Easton’s favorite party details. He immediately claimed one of each color for him — one for his bedroom and one for his backpack — and he was so proud to hand them out to his grandparents, aunts and uncles at the end of the party.
Make your own Zombie Virus Antidote with a travel size bottle of hand sanitizer and my free printable. The cost comes in at $1.00 per favor, and I’ve stashed a couple of the extras in my purse and diaper bag too. You wouldn’t believe the looks I get when I casually bring it out and use it.

Zombie Virus Antidote Hand Sanitizer Party Favor with Free Printable
Supplies:
- Travel size hand sanitizer, preferably in green or yellow if available (I went to Wal-Mart and bought their Equate brand because I was short on time. You can also get a 6-pack of Purell brand inexpensively on Amazon.)
- Avery address labels, size 5162 (14 labels per page; you need two labels per favor)

Instructions
1. Print your labels. The PDF is sized exactly to the Avery 5162 label template. Make sure to select “Print Actual Size” instead of “Fit to Print.”
2. Line up the Zombie Virus Antidote to cover the existing bottle label as much as possible, or use Goo Gone to remove original labels before starting. If you use Goo Gone to remove the labels, you’ll need to wash the bottles thoroughly with soap afterward and dry completely, or the zombie label will not adhere.
3. Apply one label to front of travel hand sanitizer bottle and one label to the back. You will need to trim the bottom of the label or fold it underneath the bottom (I trimmed mine).
4. That’s it! Display your Zombie Virus Antidotes as a party decoration and give your guests the gift of germ-free living at the end of the party. (Any adult will appreciate this gesture after attending a children’s birthday party, trust me.)
Are you a party favor person? It’s one of my favorite parts of planning. I love to send my guests home with something to remember our fun by.
The Zombie Apocalypse Party madness continues on the blog this week. You’ve already seen the graveyard monster hand cupcakes and the killer hot cocoa whipped cream frosting; the zombie brain Oreo truffles are up next, decorations and more free printables on the way, and another party favor option for the kiddos to round out the series. I promise it’s so good, it’s scary.
