What do you do when it’s 4 days into your New Year clean eating restart…and you get your period?
Wah-wah-wah. My cravings for chocolate are fierce all the time, but when it’s that time of the month, watch out. A Toblerone gifted to me at the office today almost did me in.
But caving after only four days is embarrassing, especially when it’s for no good reason, on a common candy bar no less. No, I’m saving my indulgences for something meaningful, like date night or birthday party.
This recipe is my go-to after-dinner treat on those days when I just need a little sweetness — or a healthier chocolate fix. Made with natural, unprocessed ingredients, with no added sugar and packed with healthy fat to satisfy your craving and your appetite, it’s an indulgence that won’t break your New Year’s resolutions and won’t leave you in a sugar crash state afterward.
It may, however, prove to be addictive.

A word of caution: Just because a recipe is “clean” or “sugar-free” doesn’t mean it gives you carte blanche to eat it in unlimited quantities. Moderation is key, and so is portion control.
Because this recipe includes both avocado and peanut butter, it’s high in fat. Yes, it’s healthy fat, but still, too much of a good thing can actually be a bad thing. So again, I reserve this recipe for a treat rather than a daily diet choice.
